Cactus Cup Training Camp standout players

The Cactus Cup Girls' Flag Football League regular season is around the corner.

The teams are now two weeks into their training camp and practices. Over the last few practices, players have been getting to know their teammates and coaches while improving their play.

Next week is when the real games start, and you will see the competition getting ramped up.

Here are some players that have stood out so far during the Cactus Cup Training Camp.

Jo Jo Relampogos, DB and WR for the Coyote Rebels.

A player that has been improving fast during the Cactus Cup Training Camp has been Relampogos. One of the more impressive things she has done is playing on both sides of the field. Her agility and quickness help her on defense and offense, and will prove to be a big help for the Coyote Rebels. So far, it looks like Relampogos will play slot wide receiver on offense due to her elite speed. On defense, she will be one of the more athletic cornerbacks.

Amiya Tice, QB for Scorpion Squad.

Another extremely impressive quarterback has been Tice. Tice, who is one of the younger players playing on the high school level, looks like she can compete with the older athletes on day one. The arm talent is some of the best at the Cactus Cup Training Camp and the more she has learned about her teammates and the playbook she has gotten only better. Another threat Tice is going to pose for opponents is her mobility. While she can stand in the pocket and deliver missiles, she can also get out of the pocket to pick up extra yardage. If there is one player who will break out and put her name out there, it might just be Tice.

Gigi Bulkey, DB and WR for the Steel Hawks.

Another great two-way player who has been standing out during the Cactus Cup Training Camp has been Bulkey. Bulkey has been showing flashes of improvement on both sides of the ball. Mostly on offense though, Bulkey has learned quickly where she needs to be and how to help out her quarterback in tough situations. She has also taken over as a vocal leader on the team before the season starts to get all of her teammates on the same page.

Hannah Rouse, WR for the Coyote Rebels.

One of the most talented wide receivers in the entire Cactus Cup League has been Rouse. She is one of the more polished pass catchers and it has shown so far during training camp. Rouse is also one of the taller players in the Cactus Cup and so far, she has come down with multiple 50/50 balls. Overall, she will be a big help for the Coyote Rebels as she can very well be the best wide receiver in the whole league when the season is all said and done.
