It is nearing the end of the girls volleyball regular season. Queen Creek will take on Highland in Tuesday night’s Athletes Unlimited Game of the Week.

Highland, led by Head Coach Tait Nelson is No. 5 in the 6A rankings going into this game. Queen Creek, led by Head Coach Erica Crismon is No. 8.

Highland is 12-1 on the season. The one loss was to Queen Creek back in September. The Bulldogs are one of the tougher teams on Highland’s schedule, so they have to tighten up to keep up with other competition in the potential postseason.

Queen Creek is 8-5 this season, and had a losing stretch earlier in the season when they played back-to-back difficult opponents. The Bulldogs are coming off their first loss since about a month ago.

A player to look out for this game is Highland outside hitter and opposite hitter Lila Ellsworth. As a sophomore, she is ranked 18th in the state for kills with 320. On the other side of the court, Queen Creek has a few middle hitters over six feet that work together to get some blocks at the net.

The matchup between the top two teams in the 6A Fiesta Region will be held at Highland High School Tuesday night, and one team will get even closer to having a playoff spot.
