Media Composite Rankings: The first of its kind and how it came together

The first of its kind.

Introducing the first-ever statewide media composite rankings for Arizona high school football. Yes, statewide. That means input from media members -- not a computer -- who are on the ground covering all the action.

This idea wouldn't have come to life without everyone involved. A list of those who casted votes can be found below.

Full disclaimer: Some media members chose to remain anonymous. However, a vast majority are being open with their involvement.

The Valley is represented. Tucson is represented. Eastern Arizona is represented. Northern Arizona is represented.

The voting worked the same way as the Associated Press college football media poll. Each participant was asked to rank teams 1-10 (or 1-8 for the Open Division). From there, each team was assigned a point value (rank 1 gets 10 points, rank 2 gets 9 points, etc.). The point total was then counted and the rankings were born.

Again, this would not have been possible without those who participated. Recognition time.
